Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 26 from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 26

This week I have been busy in my happy place

and I am feeling more sewing accomplished.

I love this

Bee Skep Block from Moda Bake Shop

which was a bonus block this week.

I could not resist fussy cutting one of the big beautiful bees

from a fat quarter of

Painted Meadow by Robin Pickens

I have a fat quarter bundle of this but have never cut into it before.

It is sitting on an open shelf in my sewing area waiting for the "right" project.

Looking at this fabric makes me ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 25 from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 25

It has been very hot here and keeping the gardens (and ourselves) hydrated has been a daylong task.

I have had to water some post and baskets twice a day.

Mr. Scrapatch, who has returned to work and is continuing physical therapy,

 has been helpful with this.

I have been sewing and reading and sitting in the shade.

Here is my

Stargazer Lily Block for the Summer in the Garden QAL

Click on the link above for the free block pattern.

I like this block next to the Dragonfly block and think I ...

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Shoe ~ Week 24!

Thank you for all who sent healing wishes
and who brightened my week by linking up last week.

Mr. Scrapatch has been going to physical therapy and has an appointment with his orthopedic doctor today and is hoping to be returning to work soon.

Right now he is outside in the yard doing a little gardening and I will be joining him in a few minutes when I finish this post.

On Monday, just as I was turning the page on my desk calendar,

I have added a narrow white border to this block,

which was made with scrap 30s Repro prints.

I am currently working on using up more of my 30s scrap strips

with this new scrappy project.

I am enjoying my slow stitching and sewing and sitting in my garden.

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 20 from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 20

I have been outside working in the yard lately

and need to go out and water when I finish this post.

It is 90 degress F here and we have no rain in many days. I will sit and stitch or read as a move the hose from rose to rose and garden to garden.

It will take two hours or more.

My sewing machine has been idle.

Yesterday, I started a Tuesday To-Do List

to help get my sewing projects done.

Goal #2 was to find fabric and decide on my project ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 19

On my cutting table today is this blue stripe outdoor fabric

to make new covers for my swing cushions.

I bought this fabric

Blue Stripe Outdoor Fabric from Fabric.com

while is was recently on sale.

Yesterday my day was taken up by an emergency trip to vet for Katniss.

Kitty is home and healing. She is sporting a new lion cut and a few stitches ... and a neck cone to keep her from pulling on her stitches ... which were needed when she got a laceration on her skin after pulling out a matted knot ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 16 ~ More Fabric Fun! from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew and Show ~ Week 16

I have been working on the hexagons and diamonds for

My Kingfisher Quilt

when I have not been outside gardening and inside spring cleaning.

I found this fabric when I was cleaning.

This fabric line is Cottage Joy by Windham Fabrics

It is a 2018 line bShannon Christine

I have bits and pieces of this collection and maybe enough of this large print yardage for the backing on my quilt.  I am now wishing I had bought more whe I saw it as I am really loving the colors and ...

Welcome to Week 14 for my Stitch Sew & Show Linky Party

Thanks to all who have left kind comments and emailed.

I am well.

I am still away from my regular sewing space

taking care of a loved one,

who is doing much better.

Recently, I did stop at home to replenish laundry,

pet the kitties and make some more facemasks.

For my basic tutorial for how I sew these, click on the link below:

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 12 from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 12

It has been a week of spring cleaning, inside and outside

but I have found time to sew everyday.

Yesterday I saw a block on Instagram that I just had to sew.

It was a twist on the traditional Rail Fence Quilt.

The fabric is

Violette 40 Karat Crystals Strips

that I bought on a Flash Sale at Fat Quarter Shop

These are the four strips I picked for this block.

I like the minty green with the purples.

The background is more cream than white which gives it a soft color look ...

Welcome to Week 11 of my Stitch Sew and Show Linky Party

I do have a finish to show this week.

I made this fabric bucket for the Salt and Sand Blog Hop

More photos and pattern info Here

Yesterday I was enjoying the blog hop and

I was happily working on the smaller bucket when

My Covid-19 Vaccine threw me for an unexpected loop.

I was down and out for a few hours yesterday

with chills, fever and nausea.

I am feeling much better today but I am achy and fatigued.

Today will be a day of rest.

My Stitch Sew & Show Linky Party ~ Week 10 from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 10

I am late posting today, because I had to visit my eye doctor.

I have been having significant vision issues recently that has been affecting my sewing ability and computer time.

It is looking more and more like another eye surgery may be in my future.

I have not made the decision yet to go forward with this

as it is not a quick laser surgery.

This would require a transplant and hospital care.

There is a lot to consider.

I did finish the combined Borders 4 & 5 for my SAHRR 2021.

Week ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 9 ~ Upcycling from Life in the Scrapatch

Good Morning and Welcome to Week 9 of my

Stitch Sew & Show Linky Party

I have been working on a new project with these fabrics

that has a time dated reveal, so I do not have much sewing to show today.

I have also been enjoying the

#IGQuiltFest2021

Today's prompt was "Upcycling."

Apparently, I do not do a lot of upcycling of materials so this idea has prompted me to think about adding more upcycling to my quilting.

I now have a project in mind and we are going to let my quilty muse ponder that one.

I do ...

Time for Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 7

My quilty kitty and I are happy this week to have a finished project

 to show this week.

Completing this quilt on time for the Show Your Stripes Blog Hop

has kept me busy for the last week

so now I need to catch up on a few WIPs,

like my  SAHRR, which is stuck at Week 3,

as it is now Week 5 and the last border will be next Monday.

This is what I have on my sewing table today.

I am working on the checkerboard border.

Yesterday, I made more ...

Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 6 from Life in the Scrapatch

Welcome to Stitch Sew & Show ~ Week 6

 Time to quilt.

This is the first quilt that I have done on my long arm this year.

I have a large stack of tops to quilt.

Over the winter holidays, my quilting room became a bit of a storage area

for hiding gifts and tucking away furniture to make room for the tree.

It took me longer than usual to clean up the area

I need to get back into a routine where I piece and stitch and quilt.

This quilt is for a blog hop, so it is a priority.

I ...
